Challa Gardens School Shelter

Weathersafe completed a custom-designed shelter at Challa Gardens Primary School, located in Adelaide’s Western Suburbs. This project was initiated through a quote request from Ventia and the School Principal, who was seeking to upgrade the school’s outdoor facilities.

The new curved shelter is strategically positioned near of the General Learning Area Building, providing essential weather protection and expanding the usable space for students and staff.

Our collaborative process began with a site visit arranged between our team and the school to fully understand the project’s specific needs and integration requirements. Following the site assessment, Weathersafe engineered a detailed design and quote, which was approved by the school. The entire structure was manufactured, supplied, and built by our team, reaching completion in October 2025.

This project demanded precise engineering to seamlessly integrate with the existing school buildings:

  • Structure: A curved shelter design, built on solid footings, featuring a robust structural frame and roofing.
  • Frame & Purlins: The steel frame and purlins were built with Hot Dip Galvanised steel for maximum longevity and then finished with a Powder Coating to match the school's colour palette.
  • Roofing: Features Colorbond Double-sided roof sheeting, along with matching Colorbond gutters and flashings.

The completed curved roof structure elevates the school’s environment. This project highlights Weathersafe’s commitment to delivering well-engineered, durable solutions for educational facilities.
